We are pleased to welcome you to Blairgowrie Dolphins where we provide swimmers with excellent coaching in a friendly environment so that they can develop as a swimmer. No matter whether you want to simply improve technique and stamina or have ambitions to swim competitively at club, district or even national level then this is the club for you!
How do you join?
Trials for swimmers are usually held two times a year (around Feb and Aug). Dates and times will be advertised on the club website and Facebook page.
How old do you have to be to join the club?
We do not have an age policy for joining the club, instead swimming ability is the key which means that there are no beginners in the club. We tend to find that most swimmers reach the end of their swimming lessons programme (eg Scottish Swimming Award Scheme level 8) and become ready for club training around the ages of 7 to 9 and so many Dolphins first join at about that age. On some occasions we have brought good swimmers as young as 6 years old into the club, although these tend to be few in number.
What days of the week does training take place?
There are training sessions for all squads on Sunday (main club session), Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (click here for more details). Swimmers can attend any number on any day(s) from 1 session right up to 4.
How much does it cost to join?
This depends on how many sessions the swimmer attends per week. Click here for more details.
Are the coaches qualified?
Yes, all of our lead coaches are qualified and experienced in what they do, click here for details. All coaches have recognised governing body swimming coaching and teaching qualifications.
